Make Money From Your Blog

When many people start blogging they may not be thinking about making money; what they really want to do is

get their words up on the page for other people to read. While I would say that The Joy of Blogging blogging for its own sake is a lot of fun, people

who are trying to make some kind of income from their blog may take it more seriously than those who blog simply for

the pleasure of blogging. For those who want to make money but don’t know where to start here are a couple of tips.

Write Good Content

You may have heard the statement that content is king. If you want your blog to stand out from the crowd and attract visitors

then take care when you write. Proof read your work, write something interesting and use headings as search engines

pick up on these. Once you have a good few posts up on your blog then you can think about ways to make money.

Google Adsense

Get yourself and adsense account if your blog host allows it (Blogger is good for this) it is really easy; you just sign up

and you are given a piece of code to put into your website – after a little while ads start showing up which are related

to your content. You can choose the format and type of ad that you wish to have. I find that text links are quite good but

you need to play around with it to find what suits you.

Incoming Links

Google looks at the type of links that are coming to your blog (i.e. when someone writes something and links to your blog

in the post) one way of ensuring you get good links is to comment on people’s posts and leave a link back to your own.

Make sure that what you say is meaningful and not just an excuse to promote your blog. When you do this you will

find that people will start linking back to you and this may increase your Google adsense income.

Paid Blogging

Sites like blogsvertise and blogitive will pay you to write a post on a service they are promoting. This post will include

a link specified by them to the site of whatever you are promoting. They require that you make two posts of between 50 and 100

words each between each paid post. The post itself should be between 100-150 words and if they approve your post, which they will

if you abide by the rules then you get paid $5 – this isn’t much but if you do this on a regular basis it is not hard to make $50-£100 a month this way.

You must have a paypal account to receive payment – in fact you should get this before you start looking at paid opportunities. With paid postings

it is more ethical if you state somewhere on the post that it is a paid posting.

If you enjoy writing and write good English then it is worth looking at sites like reviewstream.com which will pay you to write reviews. You have to have a balance of

around $25 before you receive payment into your paypal account but it is worth doing – it is certainly one of the ways that I got started.

As you go on with your blogging you will, no doubt come across other things which will make you some money – part of the unspoken code of blogging

is that you share information with other bloggers. If you find a money making site or somewhere that will pay you to write then let others know about it by leaving a link on your blog. Good luck

in making money from blogging.
